Gordy Young is a broadcast veteran of over 30 years interviewing experience in radio & television in the Midwest.
After starting at a small radio station in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin (WNNO) in 1978, Gordy went on to work in Madison at WMAD-FM, WIBA-AM, Triple M and Z-104. He eventually transitioned from being a radio deejay to a TV meteorologist at WMTV-NBC15, Madison in 1991.
Eventually in 1994, Gordy went to WNDU-TV (NBC) in South Bend, Indiana as the morning co-host of the top rated, award winning production "16 Morning News". He was the meteorolgist and co-anchor of the program for 16 years.
From there, Gordy produced and hosted "Experience Michiana" which aired on the local PBS station in South Bend, Indiana, WNIT. During the run of the weekday show from 2012 to 2016, Gordy interviewed hundreds of guests. Authors, musicians, politicians, actors, dancers and everyday people from charitable organizations were frequent guests on the show.
In July 2020, TALK TO GORDY debuted as a twice weekly podcast that features interesting and entertainings guests on a wide variety of topics.
Gordy has heard it all, but he never gets tired of listening! His interview style is often freewheeling and fun. But, serious topics are handled with sensitivity and care, especially during these trying times.
